- I have spent most of my life on and around the ocean, and particularly enjoy the patterns of water and light, affected by the wind and tide. I challenge myself to identify and convey a sense of what is below the surface of the water and what is reflected off the surface from above, while not losing the integrity of a particular image taken as a whole. In all of my work, I try to capture the immediacy of a particular experience I have had. I search for those moments that stir both a sense of familiarity and awe. Sometimes I find this in the power of the sea; other times in the stillness of a summer day.
